was arcadia, wisconsin. and linsey davis is there. good morning, lindsay. >> reporter: good morning. the flooding has stopped. but the flooding is still a problem. look at the intersection of main street. and where the water goes literally up to the foundation of several homes in this area. the river continues to crest until possibly sunday. and then, to make matters worse, officials were worried about a dam being breached downstream. and the worry now is that may cause even more flooding. across the upper midwest, several towns are in a desperate fight against mother nature. torrential rains submerged cars, flooded homes and streets and created sink holes. here in arcadia, wisconsin, floodwaters reached as high as three feet. the national guard distributed 20,000 sandbags. and police officers went door-to-door thursday, to urge more than half of the town's residents, about 1,500, to evacuate. >> i feel sorry for the people of arcadia. just the people that are losing things. basements are going to be flooded. it's terrible. >> reporter: governors in minnesota and wisconsin both issu
